 Workshop #10 Mahek's Atelier

This month, Mehak from Mehak Atelier taught our mom teams the magic of masalas.

 

She showed our mommies how to prepare authentic masalas from scratch that would enhance the flavours of their home-cooking. Our mommies cherished the experience to learn a new skill.

We collaborated with Chef Divisha Jadhwani of Jars & Journeys taught our mom team some simple but wonderful Christmas Treats like Sugar Cookies, Apple pie, Chocolate-chip cookies, brownies getting them ready for the holiday season and teaching a new skill 

 Workshop #8 with Jars & Journeys

September 22 2019

We collaborated with Chef Divisha Jadhwani of Jars & Journeys once again to train our mom cooks to run their own cooking workshops. They were excited to learn how to write recipes, set up the kitchen for workshops, and teach their recipes in a step-by-step way.

After initial hesitation, our mommies spoke with confidence and presented their food with pride. We can't wait for them to run their own workshops very soon!

Chef Divisha of food studio, Jars & Journeys, taught our mom team some simple but wonderful oven-free desserts. Understanding the needs of our mommy community, many of whom do not have access to fancy kitchen equipment like ovens, Chef Divisha showed our moms how they can create scrumptious desserts using the equipment they have available.

Our moms learn to make chocolate mousse cups, cheesecake cups, a simple vanilla cake cooked in a pressure cooker, and granola cake pops.

 Workshop #6 with Foodhall Cookery Studio

July 13 2019

Chef Ishita Shah from the Foodhall Cookery Studio did a crash course on plating and presentation for our mom teams from Sankalp Mahila Mandal, sharing with them how to plate common Indian dishes like upma, aloo parathas, vegetable tikkis to make them look appetising and attractive. Chef Ishita really helped our moms see new and innovative ways in which they could present their simple home-cooking. 

Chef Hemali of Vegan Bites introduced our mom teams from Sankalp Mahila Mandal to the Veganism, and taught them a few key vegan techniques and recipes through a workshop.

Our moms learned to make vegan chocolate shakes, dips and dressings, vegetable cutlets, and dhoklas.

 Workshop #4 offsite at Manasi Bungalow

Team Cooked by Moms had an enriching and fun-filled mommy offsite at Manasi Bungalow in Lonavala. 

Manasvi Bhatia hosted our team with enthusiasm and love, helping us treat our women to a relaxed day away from their kitchens to celebrate Cooked by Moms one year anniversary.

 Workshop #3 with Chef Arina Suchde

January 12 2019

Chef Arina Suchde - a Zero Waste Cooking expert - taught our mom teams how to make clever use of items we generally throw away, minimising food waste in our kitchens. 

Our mom teams from Sankalp Mahila Mandal and Seva Sadan were excited to learn about how to turn kitchen waste into delicious dishes.

 Workshop #2 with Savor Experiences

November 17 & 18 2018

Savor Experiences ran a 2-day workshop for 12 of our mommies from Seva Sadan and Sankalp Mahila Mandal to teach them the skills required in a professional kitchen set up. 

Through this intensive and beautifully designed weekend workshop by Savor Experiences, our moms learned kitchen hygiene tips, understood how to use some professional kitchen equipment and were introduced to the basics of Chinese and Italian cooking. 

Workshop #1 with Love Sugar & Dough

August 31 2018

Cooked by Moms' first ever workshop was run by Chef Tarannum Aziz of Love Sugar & Dough who taught 18 participants and their mums from the Veruschka Foundation some delicious recipes, at St Andrews College in Bandra, Mumbai.

 

Chef Tarannum Aziz shared some of her baking secrets through recipes for cupcakes, chocolates, black forest cake and more with our participants, who had limited experience in made western desserts before, making it an enriching experience for all.
